crank warning

Will my te 20 give me any crank warning like the way a car engine will knock, or do you just tear em down anyway? When I got her I changed the front seal. Both leaked but the front was more than I could bear. I notice after its ran a whileit to is now back to sweating slightly. No where near like before, but just a slight sweat. Is this normal? Is the seal taking a while to runin? OR do I have bearing wear causing the seal to seal poorly?
