PHOTO - the opening furrows

HI Gang;
This shows the opening furrows. So this guy has gone up the plot turning a very shallow single furrow using only the rear mouldboard. Then back down the otherside again a very shallow single furrow. This leaves the open furrow, the split.
The next run he uses both mouldboard to plough back those shallow furrows towards the centre split at normal depth. This turns back those first
2 furrows and sandwiches the grass underneath. So all the grass roots have been cut off and stops any grass growing. These opening 2 furrows are slightly higher than the rest of the furrows. We call this the "cop" and the last open furrows the "rean". Dont know where these names originated. Another term used here to travel accross the field and then back down on the next row is a "bout".
