Gary, I have been getting the Tractor and Machinery magazine from the UK for several years now. And they have photos of plowing contests in the UK and it is most always in sod. So I am figuring that they seed down these plots just for the plowing matches, I could be wrong but that is what I think. They take their plowing matches very seriously over in the UK.
