JD 4040 hydraulic leak has us stumped!!!!

My dad has a powershift 4040 that will leak oil out of the left side of the 2 point. It is the top part of the 2 point arm where it goes into the housing. The deere mechanics say that is not possible because that part is not under pressure. It is a totally random leak that comes and goes but when it comes it leaves a trail behind the tractor. Any ideas???????
