O/T RIFD Ear Tags For Cattle

I got my RIFD ear tags in the mail yesterday. These are required on ALL livestock now as a form of radio tracking. But the sad part was I had to order them through the Michigan Dept. Of Agriculture. And they were sent to me from a company in Vermont. Now with a State with NO work and a 8 percent unemployment rate, why are we making these things elswhere? I know 3 plastic factories in my area that are really slow and could use work like this, especially if its state funded. Do your States require these as well and are they coming from the same source?
