I wasn't sure what you meant by "topping" the battery. If you meant you charged it and still have the same problem then you are past my possible solution although if it started fine before you parked it, it is unlikely that it went bad sitting. More likely the contacts may have corroded and caused what my starter man calls a “dead spot” in the circuit somewhere. Sometimes you can tap on it with a hammer handle and it will move enough to make contact and work again. If you pull the starter to bench test it make sure you put the jumper on the small post first and then finish the connection through the starter case. The arc generated when you touch it off could ruin the threads on the solenoid post and you won't be able to use them later. HTH
