I had a 1993 f-350 4x4 single wheel and the best i got was 18mpg empty. hook a trailer behind it and would get 12-14 depending on conditions. this was plain 7.3 non turbo with the 5 spd manual and 4:10 gears. might not be the fastest to the top of the hill but would eventually get there.
