WOW! $50 just to mic a piston or two I think i'm in the wrong business. It shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to do the job and how about the cylinders is he going test them for taper. Most shops will test your pistons and cylinders for nothing hoping that they will get the job for repairs. You know if you can't feel any lip at the top of the cylinder then all you need to do is hone them out and replace the pistons with new rings if there is a lip then you have a taper so you will need to bore them out or replace the sleeves which ever is appropriate.
