While you're talking about diesel smoke, as anyone noticed that it just doesn't smell the same anymore? Yeah, I know it's better for the environment and all but it's just not the same since they took all the "good" stuff out of it. When I was a kid back in the 60's I'd ride with dad on our Super 88 diesel when he plowed. We had a #8 IHC 3-14 plow and we could run in 4th gear (about 5.5 mph) in Tama/Muscatine soil (92-100 CSR) about 7 inches deep. When we would get off the flat and into the clay knobs the black smoke just rolled which I always thought was cool. I actually enjoyed the smell of the smoke back then, however strange that sounds. Just not the same anymore. Sure wish I could go back and make one more round with dad.........
