Does the pto coupler on the pump have a lock on it? If so, it should slide far enough on to engage. If not, and it just has a set screw or something like that I would slide it on as far as it would go and fasten the pump on the back of the tractor in such a fashion that the pump can"t walk off. We had a PTO pupm one time that didn"t have a lock on it and it worked just fine. Hope that helps, Have a goodun!!
