My uncle has an arrangement not unlike what Tim..Ok describes. It's a fifth wheel on a dolly that he uses to move a his bulldozer around the farm on a lowboy. He doesn't use an H, though, he has a large fairly recent Case-International.
As to how much an H will pull with a regular trailer hitch, mine has a 2" ball on the drawbar and it's pulled my little dump trailer loaded to a total weight of close to 7K. The only time it gave trouble was in deep sand. When the drawbar and the trailer axle both bottomed out everything stopped.
