The D-17 is rated at 54 hp. It is larger than the D-10, D-12, and the D-14. It has 8 speeds (4 speed with high and low range). It is or was Allis Chalmers most popular tractor in the early 1960"s. I have a D-17 and it"s been the best tractor I"ve had for baling hay. With live PTO and high/low shifting on the go -I love it! I"m also fond of my Farmall Super-C for plowing snow. -Then there are my Minnie-Molines, they just keep pulling!
