Our early model 8 spd had a plug on the side of the transmission,by the step plate on the left, fill to overflow. Same with the rear end. You do wish to use the right stuff, the brakes are wet. Be sure to service the injector pump, it has its own sump and lube, change it out with the engine oil. Visit your dealer and get the right oil, or get oil that you know meets the ford spec. Memory is hazy, but I think you got another compartment for hydraulic too, that may be the one for the dipstick.
