Oliver 880 fuel delivery

I have an Oliver 880 and it will start and run fine for about ten seconds and then stall. I've replaced the points, rebuilt the carburetor, and taken out the filter and cleaned it at the carburetor with no luck fixing the problem. I had done some research on the internet and found that debris could be clogging the fuel filter, then when the engine stalls, the backpressure forces the debris back up into the tank allowing fuel to flow again for a little bit to staret it again for about ten seconds.
Has anyone out there ran into this problem and if so, what was your solution?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
