I"m still on dial-up, where I"m at there are 3 hi-speed options: 1) phone line DSL -- but they say I"m two miles too far from town for that. 2) wireless via a local tv services -- but they can"t get a signal back through the neighbor"s grove. 3) satellite internet -- but there"s no local dealer/reseller in this area to install it (and they tell me I can"t install a transmitter dish unless I get a special license from the FCC). So I"m on dialup. I flush my browser cache regularly, use opera, don"t have even flash installed, and only turn on images when I"m on a page I need it (like for radar). It works for me, and I don"t do a lot of napping in front of a computer.
