When I had dial up and an old 486 computer, there was something I did to have just text come over the computer without the graphics.
Made it a lot faster until I found what I was looking for and then I turned on the graphics again. I cant remember how I did it. When I had that old I got quite handy inside it because I had to be or get driven nuts (still got driven nuts)
