Not going to argue the transportation thing but I will those input costs verus income. Income verus inputs are not where they were in the early 70's but they are close. My first crop year was 1975 and I cleared $125 dollars an acre on a 50/50 lease agreement. On a 50/50 this year if I had all my grain contracted for fall, with a 2006 yield average I would net $190 an acre. But the cost of living is more than twice as high now as then. Gary

Product Review: Black Tire Paint - by Staff. I have been fortunate in that two of my tractors have had rear tires that were in great shape when I bought the tractor. My model "H" even had the old style fronts with plenty of tread. My "L" fronts were mismatched Sears Guardsman snow tires, which I promptly tossed.
