That one cylinder semi-diesel design was very popular in Europe up until the 1950"s. It will run on just about any combustible liquid that will pour. They were made by Lanz in Germany, HSCS in Hungary, Vierzon in France, & others. Modern diesels took over the market from them in the 1950"s.
