This engine has a bad reputation but they arn't all that bad. The good thing is people have a hard time selling then and you can get them dirt cheap. The early ones had cooling problems and the last few years for that engine was pretty darn good. If you buy it modify the air box to let in more air. Take the aluminum plenum off which is the part that goes from the turbo to the top of the intake manifold. It breaths thru these tiny slits that need to be filed open.You can also take a small drum sander and clean and open up the end that goes to the turbo boot. This will wake it up and make it run cooler and just plain better.
