Gorilla, Most of my soils are an Houston Black derivitity called Ecrack. It still has enough clay to be hard to plow at times, But enough Calachie. rock, and sand to keep things intresting. So it tends to run grayer rather than the true black soils further East. Sharp disk will pull easer than dull ones. My opinion on disk withs really comes from my experiences in the TX/OK Panhandles farming Highplains Sand. We pulled 21' Offsets with 150 Hp JDs 4630/4640. We used the same 21' offsets with our 4840s but had better soil action. When I moved back I watched the same tractors we used in the panhandles pulling 4 to 5' narrower plows down here. That is just my observations. Since you will be useing duals that will make a big difference. Have fun, Good Luck. Later, John A.
