I've been using this ancient HP for longer than i can remember....still has windows 98 on it! been a great machine. I bought a new E machine 6 months ago and it's still in the box! I'm not a computer geek and play no games on one. I don't do anything but surf the net and email...so why dump a ton of money in a super duper machine? I'd lay money that most of us, use one like i do...it's a toy..not a true tool. Therefore, i used the logic that one of the packaged computers from WalMart was 'good enough'...just like this old HP is/was. remember, if you have an old machine...most anything being sold today is light years ahead of it. $500 is plenty to spend on a web surfer and email machine.
