San Francisco is pretty neat to see how people live out there, golden gate bridge, fishermans wharf. South of S.F. on Hwy 1 is awesome Especially south of Monterrey. Monterrey has a great aquarium if you like stuff like that. Carmel beach at sunset is one of the prettiest places Ive ever been. Yosemite is just north of you but probably not a good time to go there due to winter snow. Also whale watching trips at monterrey if the season is right.
