Robert in Md. is now sitting in a Comfort Inn in Three Rivers , Ca. Going to see the big Redwoods in Sequia Nat Forest tomorrow and then to the World Ag Expo on Tuesday and Wednesday. My question is what else do I need to see while I'm here. Planning to stay another week and going to the coast. What does a old tractor guy and his wife need to visit. We have already stayed 2 nights in Las vagas, lost a total to $2.00 and traveled thru Death Valley to Bakersfield. Anyone got some ideas, Thanks , Robert in Md-CA.

I really enjoyed Monterrey Bay aquarium and you've got to take a drive up Highway 1! It's amazing...

If you get down to San Diego, There is one of the best zoo's in the nation, then there's sea wourld, and the wild animal park, where you can ride a rail car Around and see the animals in the wild. Stan

If you get near San Jose the Winchester Mansion is pretty interesting. Mrs Winchester was shall we say excentric or just plain nuts! The Redwoods are worth the trip if you go further north. Amazing trees!!

Visit the Heidrick Ag History Museum in Woodland. Something like 130,000 sq ft of Ag history. Lots of old crawlers and tractors.

Do not miss the Hearst Castle; www.hearstcastle.com/tours/
Given the distance you are traveling, a commercial tour of the city/area would be well worth the investment. Enjoy.

Go to San Francisco and see what interests you there. Ride the cable cars around the city if nothing else. Get an all day pass. It is a beautiful city and very few tourists this time of year. I will probably be there next week since I will be visiting my daughter in San Ramon. I live in VA.

I am 65 years old, had never been to Cal, in 2004 after my wife had passed away in 2003 an old grade school friend in the middle of a big D invited me to come visit him. He lives in San Ramon. I flew from Tulsa to Oakland, where he picked me up, I live about 2 1/2 hrs from the Tulsa Airport. It is a nice place to visit, not live.

San Francisco is pretty neat to see how people live out there, golden gate bridge, fishermans wharf. South of S.F. on Hwy 1 is awesome Especially south of Monterrey. Monterrey has a great aquarium if you like stuff like that. Carmel beach at sunset is one of the prettiest places Ive ever been. Yosemite is just north of you but probably not a good time to go there due to winter snow. Also whale watching trips at monterrey if the season is right.

I was there in May still needed a light jacket on some of the time. My time was limited as David taught a half of a day, I few out on a Thrusday and came home one a Monday, but still saw several sights. I had a good tour of San Francisco as we met my second cousin that lives in San Francisco on Sunday she knew all the places to go. On Sat we went to Point Raye ( not spelled right ). and several other places walked on the beach that didn't do much for me.
