Have someone who knows what they are doing clean out your old 'puter, and threaten the kids with death if the touch it. It is most likely more than adequate for what YOU do.

Buy the KIDS a 'puter to game on, chat with, and load up with crap.

You'll be surprised how well your's works tuned up, and keep "out of bounds" from the kids.
