99% chance that the rebuild was messed up. If it fired up initally with the Amsoil in it, nothing is going to grow and seize up. I bet the engine had a problem when assembled. A great many(over 20 brands) of the high performance engines sold in this country come with mobil 1 in the engine from new. They break in just fine with synthetic oil from the first revolution.
