Sorry, but I agree with everyone else. Unless you had a written contract (that's what fax machines are for) or had put money down on it, they have no obligation to hold it for you. If the guy was really, really, really nice he might have called you, but he certainly had no obligation to.

Even if you had told him specifically you wanted it and were just waiting for the paperwork, his only (barely) obligation would be to call you.

Have you turned down another offer on you car while waiting for the first guy to make up his mind? I'm sure the dealer gets tons of people "looking" and never buying.
