How full is the tank?

A diesel fuel additive probably won"t let you run 100% #2 diesel if it"s really cold out. If you have room, put some #1 diesel in to mix with the #2. Drain half the tank if you need to make room. Then wait a few hours. Mercedes Benz used to recommend mixing gasoline with #2 diesel. It would be really hard to melt the paraffin in the fuel lines with a magnet heater on the tank.
