Thanks for the responses. We don"t have much for topsoil at my place. We are at the bottom of a large creek coulee. Not a lot of level spots on my place. I might have to develop the ring so it slopes all in one direction. Is that ok? I am not sure what plastic drainage tile is and how I would install it and where do I drain it to. Our soil is predominantly bentonite was you get past the very shallow topsoil. You can get an idea of the lay of our land from photos I have on webshot at: http://community.webshots.com/user/wkwalsh Look in the albums labeled "2005 Foal" and "First Deer Hunt" - that was my wifes very first effort at deer hunting and is out my "back door" on my place. If I use drainage tile should I still berm and swale on the "uphill" side of the ring? Thanks very much Ken
