Years ago, on a 1950 A, we needed more oil capacity for a for a one way cylinder wagon hoist. We attached a home made tank with a pipe union to the oil filler pipe on the hydraulic housing. That sounds like what you have. The time of year that we needed the extra oil, it tended to very slowly seep out of the ends of the rock shaft, but didn't seem to hurt anything. Hope this helps.
