Mike, what year is your truck? Iam not a tranny expert but where I worked sometimes the simplest things worked. Someone suggested your vehicle's computer may be fudging the shift pattern. We found that if we disconnected the battery for a minute , then reconnected the computer would reset itself(Most GM products) and when the computer reset dash light warnings would disappear and everything would be in working order.WE did this after using the scan tool for codes and if we found no default codes we would disconnect. I've done this with our van several times when it would give some silly reading or a door buzzer wouldn't shut off. Once the computer reset everything was fine..just a thought...
