(OT) Forklift Lifting Ques.

Aloha,
The forklift sales rep. told me that I could lift the front two wheels off the ground by using the mast tilt. I tried it and couldn"t get to lift the front tires off the ground because the carriage also went up. My forks are 42" long so I was wondering if it works for 48" forks. Any thought to this??
