Hmmm... The Yales at work must be a little different because they only lurch when you first put them in gear. The Allis was at the last shop I worked at. The mast sank really fast, and it leaked brake and hydraulic fluid all over the shop. That one was a straight clutch/gear transmission w/ a high/low, pull up for high and down for low... They always tended to grind some once in a while.... No tourque converter on that baby.... Donovan from Wisconsin
