On the old Fordson Model F's they used to have "road bands" on them for shipping -- made it easier to roll the tractor around the rail yard and at the dealership, and if the farmer wanted to drive his new tractor home, local roads and bridges wouldn't be damaged by steel lugs. The road bands looked just like the steel tire of a wooden wagon wheel (about 3" or 4" wide), with a short piece of angle iron with a bolt hole in it, to secure it to the wheel cleats. I'm not sure if they used one or two per wheel. (Unfortunately, I don't have a photo to show you.) Perhaps you could fabricate something like this? That way, you could remove them when you wanted to and your Huber would still be original. -- Maine Fordson
