Does anyone know of a good substitute for iron lugs on a tractor. It is for an old HUBER tractor. I want the lookm without the rough ride. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just fit steel road rims? Depends on what you want to do with it.

how about the rubber pads they use on crawler tracks? or maybe you can find the track off a cat challenger tractor that is worn out and cut to fit.

On the old Fordson Model F's they used to have "road bands" on them for shipping -- made it easier to roll the tractor around the rail yard and at the dealership, and if the farmer wanted to drive his new tractor home, local roads and bridges wouldn't be damaged by steel lugs.

The road bands looked just like the steel tire of a wooden wagon wheel (about 3" or 4" wide), with a short piece of angle iron with a bolt hole in it, to secure it to the wheel cleats. I'm not sure if they used one or two per wheel. (Unfortunately, I don't have a photo to show you.)

Perhaps you could fabricate something like this? That way, you could remove them when you wanted to and your Huber would still be original.
