Yes, I bought a kit from a company called
64 Metals. The cost of the kit was 8600.00
including tax. I did not buy the doors
from them because I wanted to use a Wayne
Dalton brand overhead which will match
the ones on my garage. Also, I prefered to
buy a "man" door with a steel frame instead
of wood. 64 Metals did a good job of putting
the kit together. I only had a problem with
a piece of Z channel that was supplied white
instead of dark brown. Anyway, it was a fun
project, but I regret having done it in the
crazy weather we had in October and November.
Oh, I also added cost when I used concrete pilings
and post anchors. That added up to about another
700.00. But, at least my posts will be out of the
ground and will last my lifetime. Then I had another 300.00 in gravel. Fortunately, I did not have to rent any equipment since my neighbor is an excavator. My wife is a heavy equipment operator so she did all of the hole drilling and trackhoe work. I did a little work with a dozer to prepare the site. I would have to say using a dozer was about the most fun out of the whole project.
