I have a 78 ford f600 dump in NY and I only paid 150. year for insurance through allstate, but the vehicle was for personal use and it was pleasure. I know your vehicle is heavier but if you aren't using it for a business and it will only see 10 mile distances you should be able to get it alittle cheaper I think. Maybe California is different give it a try shop around to different Insurance companies goodluck
