Bill,
To me a dog that you find and "rescue" will be the best and most loyal ever. My dogs are family. Plus they are the house alarm, coyote chasers, and general all-around guards. These are my English Mastiffs. Very, very loyal and great guard dogs. Havent got them driving the tractors yet like below, but they do ride the golf cart. Daisy is on the left (155 lbs) and Flash is sitting (170 lbs.) Rick
