The way it looks, you may not have a need for him, but he sure has a need for you.. If you tell the shelter that you`ll board him til he gets adopted, they should be more than willing to supply the food for him. Then you can do alittle snooping around as to who`s dog it might be. Alot of newspapers run `lost and found` ads for free. Do like you said, and run a `giveaway to good` home ad. Be sure to let prospective owners know that the dog isn`t yours, in case they run into a problem they can`t come back on you. I`m a softy for good old dogs like what you got there. The ones I`ve taken in like that have always been reunited with their owners again, once word gets thru the grapevine. Where I live, it seems like every couple years a dog wanders onto our place. Good luck and enjoy him, you might just end up with a loyal companion.
