Taking a guess here that you have the Case 4JMA or 41 mag and on those there is a dot on steel gear and cam that should align with two beveled teeth on the fibre gear on rotor. The beveled teeth should face towards the rotor disc if gear is on right. Originally the beveled teeth and dot were painted red but it comes off over time.
