yup air brake plastic line and proper compression fittings would be my first choice, thats what my gradall excavator had from the factory for fuel line as well as grease lines. my next choice would be steel brake line in a large diameter. if its all ya got or a hard place to run it thru then yes the rubber fuel line rated for diesel or oil will work but tends to be short lived
