Not really sure it isn't a retouched photo, kind of looks like it because there isn't anything around where it goes through the roof. And it would defeat it's purpose because the wooden stick that drives it would have to be allowed room to move and there isn't any room and if there was it would have rotted the roof away because of inattention tnat you can clearly see.
