I always ask myself "does the guy want me to do it because he is unable for some reason , OR , does he want me to do it because he is too busy or going on a trip or doesn't want to get dirty or he figures I'm so cheap that he can't afford to do it himself. I have dealt with a lot of people who fall into the latter catagory and I will soak it right to them. If he falls into the first catagory then you need to ask yourself "will I ever need HIS services for anything"? If so, trade or charge him what you would have to pay him. If not , charge 50% of prevailing shop rate in your area. (you probably don't have their overhead).
