Our local electric coop sells used electric poles for a dollar a foot. Some are 60 years old and some are 10. The old ones are cedar and not much good but if they change a line or remove a service sometimes you can get some very nice poles for fence posts. The coop will not reuse a pole once its been in the ground and you have to cut them to at least 14 foot or smaller lenths before they leave coop property.
