Distember in horses is usually left alone to run it's course. You need to monitor the fever though and use antibiotics only if they start to have problems breathing or the temp gets to high. But if you start antibiotics keep up with it and do a full regimen, otherwise it comes back worse than ever. When you are around them you need to totally disinfect you clothes footwear and gloves etc after you handle them or are around their pen. they should be quarantined, so it doesn't get spread. Once it is there it is there.
