Is it a quad 4 engine? My spouse had a Grand Am, and being the rocket scientist I am, I thought I could simply add some coolant. Wrong!! Evidentally you have to bleed the air out of these things, popped the heater core. To make matters worse I still didnt know about the air when I replaced the heater core so the head gasket went the next time. All in all it was a $1500 lesson.
