Unless changed just for sale, it will be 12 volts.
You need to check polarity of coil as well as generator - if it is D.C.(dynamo)
Presuming the generator is not A.C. Polarity important if it is, though.
Whatever it is, you need to check it out first, although it is not impossible to check the generator output separate from running the engine.
