Light switch on 544D

Any one have an idea on how many amps the stock light selector switch can handle. I have the stock lights on each side of the hood, the rear light, plus I added 1 light to each fender. The switch started smoking this morning when I was getting the generator all hooked up. Was able to see a red glow in the back of swith through a panel space. Am I better off just adding independent switches with the additional light that are mounted? Whats a new OEM switch cost anyhow?
