Jeeps are built with whatever parts happen to be handy. Is not at all unusual to have a mixture of fasteners, some metric, some SAE, holding on the same part. Pre-AMC Jeeps are okay, everybody that's owned the name since AMC has made a cash cow out of it and ridden on the name.

You can buy more 4x4 for less money from virtually any other manufacturer.
