All of those who replied to your question have more experience and credibility than do I, so take this for what it's worth. A few months back I got a bad batch of fuel in my '04 Dodge/Cummins. A ton of money and a lot of discussion later the question came up that if I had had Power Service in my truck would that bad fuel have burned causing no problems. Also, does it increase mileage. There is no objective answer to the contaminated fuel problem except to be VERY careful about buying clean fuel and record mileage when purchasing fuel to know who sold you the fuel. I am, however, a 1000 miles into a 3000 mile trip using Power Service to test if there is a measureable increase in mileage. This is not a scientifc test by any stretch but I did make the same trip last year pulling the same trailer, etc. without Power Service. So far there is no descernable difference in mileage. I'll post the results, if any, after the trip next April.
