I had a 95 v10 w/5 speed. It"s kind of the ultimate truck engine - huge torque and hp while quiet and smooth. Lots of folks put them in front of 4.11 gears which made them use lots of gas. I ordered mine with 3.54 gears and got 14mpg on the highway and never ran out of power. The only time I came close is when I was pulling a full 650bu wagon up hill in a soft field - it warmed up a little. I have a diesel of the same year now that wasn"t taken care of and is falling apart - the v10 was in good shape at 130K miles, but I think the chance you take with dodge (good parts, maybe not the greatest design - when I worked at Chryco in Detroit in 1985 trucks were not designed, they "happened"). Hope this helps, Pat
